Miss GSU


Marlena Collins is a junior at Georgia State University, majoring in hospitality administration and minoring in gerontology. With this degree, she hopes to work in resort-style retirement communities. She is member of the J. Mack Robinson College of Business Honors Program and the Georgia State University Honors College. As a member of the 1913 Society, Marlena serves as a student ambassador for Georgia State to her peers, potential students, and the community. Marlena is the past philanthropy chair and president of Alpha Lambda Delta, an honor society on campus that is heavily involved in community service. She also is a FYRE (First Year Resident Experience) mentor for freshman students in housing and serves as the social chair of Golden Key Honors Society. After her grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Marlena became an advocate with Alzheimer’s Association. Her platform is Forget-Me-Not – End Alzheimer’s. She looks forward to a year filled with memories, service, and opportunity. Marlena would like to thank her friends and family for their support and the Miss Georgia State University Board for making this year possible.

Marlena Collins was crowned Miss Georgia State University 2014 on Saturday, January 28, 2014.
