Arts

The Arts committee encourages creative expression within the Georgia State community by presenting multiple artistic events throughout the year. As a representation of Georgia State’s diverse culture and talent, events will include visual arts, such as exhibitions of students’ work, and auditory arts, such as concerts showcasing a variety of musical genres.

The Student Center Gallery Lounge hosts the majority visual arts events such as art shows featuring Georgia State student artists, pottery, painting, and other shows by members of the Georgia State community. Musical events, which often take place at the Courtyard Stage, include the Courtyard Music Series, performances by members of the Georgia State community in jazz, acoustic, classical, and other genres and SLAM Art (an event utilizing both visual and auditory arts). An exciting new program for 2014-15 is the Water Wall Concert in Downtown Atlanta’s Woodruff Park.
